UNC Children’s is seeking a General Pediatrician or Emergency Medicine trained pediatrician to fill an open rank position starting November 2019 in a new Children’s Urgent Care in Raleigh, NC. The physician will work in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care in the new UNC Children’s Urgent Care located in a large new children’s multispecialty clinical building in Raleigh, NC. Willingness to work evenings and weekends is a must. The Urgent Care will initially be open 7 days a week from 4:00pm – 12:00am M-F and 12:00pm – 12:00am on Saturday and Sunday and serves patients from birth through young adulthood. Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in general pediatrics or pediatric emergency medicine. Additionally, ideal candidates will have strong interest or experience in pediatric urgent or emergency care. Any other relevant training or experience is also desirable. Strong clinical skills combined with an interest in developing an academic career are necessary. Future responsibilities to include teaching and supervising residents from a variety of specialties and learners from various healthcare professions including medical students, NP and PA students. Rank and competitive salaries are commensurate with experience.
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is a growing and integral part of the Pediatric Department. All division faculty members are expected to perform scholarly work to enhance the academic mission of the division. Opportunities for collaboration with academic General Pediatrics division and working in additional roles or settings could be considered.
